It's a Boy! It's a Girl! No, it's an Onion!

It's been 11 days since I planted my onion and pepper seeds. Nothing happened, so I was beginning to think the seeds were duds - or, much more likely, that I'd planted them wrongly. So imagine my joy when yesterday evening I scanned the containers looking for anything green and I found this tiny little shoot!

Note: picture deliberately blurred to deter stalkers.

I'm afraid it looks like a match to me. But I'm sure it will be no less tasty.

What's happening with your other babies? The Basils?

You can find that spot no problem. Just go to GoogleEarth and type in "Keefieboy's blooming garden" and it pops right up.

Yer all jealous - the green blur to the left of the matchstick is me onion. Since then, another one has popped up, and they're both about 8mm tall!

Dxb Sunshine: the basil babies are getting quite tall now, maybe 50mm, but no more than the original 2 leaves. Don't know what's going on there...

What a relief that they're coming up.

At least this proves that you didn't plant them upsidedown!

Greetings from New Zealand via NeoWORX. Geez, and I thought you were lighting a match to the soil that didn't seem to yield any growth...

Clearly the match is for lighting Dad's congratulatory cigar.
