Bride and Brejudice

We went to see the latest remake of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice yesterday. It stars Keira Knightley (bonny little thing), Matthew Macfadyen, Brenda Blethyn (screamingly funny) and Donald Sutherland. Dame Judi's in there as well, typecast as a scary auld woman. It has superb photography, realistically earthy sets, costumes to die for and a witty script. What more could you ask?

I lurved it.

You do realise it is the ultimate chick flick...of all times...

And men will constantly be compared to Mr. Darcy...

ah well Colin Firth in my opinion still is the ultimate Mr. Darcy. wouldn't you say?

We saw it over the weekend.

Absolutely first rate.

The camera work is fantastic - loved the scene when the camera was outside the house and they were all going to bed - camera starts in the Bennett Snrs' bedroom; then goes across to the younger girls where one is reading aloud; then back to the maid going upstairs to her bedroom and singing; and then finally to the 2 older girls' room before entering through the window to continue the scene.

Brilliant.

I've finished the book weeks ago (it's what we are reading in the school for English Literature)and when I had had the chance to see it in the theatre I opted for Big Momma.. :(

I guess I made a silly choice.. lol
