Jollies

Ach, it's that time of year again. BetterArf finishes work for the summer and a nanosecond later she jumps on a plane and leaves me! So she's off to Spain on Thursday, doing voluntary work with OffSpring on an organic farm in Andalucia, no less, and I will catch up with the pair of them in Valencia at the end of July. BetterArf and I are going to do an intensive Spanish course for two weeks and then visit rellies in England for a week.

Before I leave I have a mountain of work to get through, and I'll have to buy lots of new clothes because it amuses me to pretend that I don't know how to work the washing machine and iron.

In the 'kitchen' you should find a big white box with a door in the front. (You may be aware of a similar one you use to keep your beer cool.) There is a second, smaller box that looks like a TV but with a hinged front.

Take a cold package out of the first box and put it into the second box. Turn on the latter for a few minutes and the package should magically turn into food.

If you are lucky, there's another white box with a hinged front. You can put your dirty plates in here and after pressing 'go' they'll become clean. It is very important not to use the box with the circular window for cleaning plates.

Enjoy the summer, you born-again bachelor!

(Almost the entire post inspired by actual instructions left by my sister to her husband when she went away to Yorkshire on a week's training course)

Oh, poor bachelor boy! Lonely and helples 'round the house. I seem to recall a certain Christmas dinner one year... turkey with all the trimmings, haggis stuffing, chipotles and all... and BetterArf swore it was all YOUR doing... helpless indeed!

I'm hoping Keefie will finally drop the veil when he relocates and tell us all the stories he's been holding back on for fear of ending up in the clink.

Grumpy: useful advice, thank you.
Tainted: I intend to bore everyone rigid with our adventures in Spain and Engerland.
Mory: two cameras, two camera phones and a digital video camera: we should be ok.
Mme Cyn: 'chipotles'? Chipolatas, surely.
Duffy: I hope to be able to return to Dubai one day, when they've finished building it. The gory truth will have to wait. Bwuhahaha.

Sorry -
chipotles: hot chilis used in weird, foreign cooking
chipolatas: sausages used in weird, foreign Christmas feasts.
