Gimme a Break

Sorry for the shortage of pearls of wisdom tumbling from my keyboard recently. I'm somewhat swamped with work, and also I'm reading a Stephen King doorstop 'Needful Things'. I would describe the book as 'unputdownable', but it weighs a couple of kilos and I need to sleep. I'm about 100 pages from the end, and there is mucho slaughter going on.

Gripping, it is, gripping.

Oh, and I'm pleased to see that 'Syriana' is finally about to be released here.

Needful Things is a fantastic book; probably one of the few Stephen King ones I was able to read all the way through. He’s too descriptive for my taste…

I’m just wondering how much of that movie will be cut out; and whether or not it’s better just to have someone bring a DVD from abroad?

yo Keefie!!

sorry i haven't been poping into your blog as much as I've liked, but I'm glad to see you're enthusiastic to see Syriana.

I look forward to a post on it once you've seen it, as your point of view is extremely interesting and carries a lot of weight as an expat Brit. So hopefully you can see both sides of the argument.

Buj: I am honoured by your visit - I guess the frantic Reading nitelife is taking its toll eh? Dunno about 'both sides of the argument' re Syriana - don't know what the argument is, but yes, I normally post about movies I've seen, so watch this space.

Tainted: I'm sure it will be hacked to bits, but we'll wait and see. Needful Things - 15 pages to go...OMG!

Welcome back Keefie; I was gonna send someone to check for a pulse! 3 days, no post! Is there an unreported coup going on, I ask myself, (remembering when they closed the road to Sharjah temporarily, until the 'Big M' said "cut the crap") but that's another story.
Interested to see where the next chapter of your life takes you; give (at least) me a clue so I can start priming your Google ranking.
Belated warm Anniversary wishes to you both,

Syriana is coming but I see that Brokeback Mountain is a horse of a different color (sic). Looks like the chinese video takeaway is the only way to get it!

Yeah - know what it's like, Keefie. We know have J's kids with us for 10 days so it seems that every minute of our lives is now consumed by keeping them entertained!

thanks Keefie :) Reading is good, mind you I am spending my evenings either in Wales or Londunimuim (sp?) so Reading is feeling a bit left out.. but not for long :)

as for Syriana.. i meant that you being a Brit but lived in the sandlands and hopefully met other people from different backgrounds gives you a good open-minded view on things.
