Back in the UAE

We had an utterly marvellous week in Jordan, but our isolation from TV, newspapers and Internet meant that we did not hear about the sad demise of Sheikh Maktoum until yesterday. What a shock!

That is the problem with no internet and only Arabic papers to read. I am saddened by Sheikh Maktoum's death.

No work for you for a few more days then!

I remember not knowing what to do when Sheikh Zayed died and went into work. I arrived to be told by security to leave immediately as it was a mark of disrespect to be working.

Is it prayers on the radio again?

welcome back Keefieboy, I trust you had fun over in Jordan. Shocking about Sheikh Maktoum, eh? May God rest his soul and grant him eternal paradise.

Welcome home!

Can't wait to hear your Jordan story - if it's half as entertaining as your recount of life in Saudi, it'll be a good read!

cheers

Yes the shock about Sheikh Maktoum must have been a big one. Everyone is still trying to come to terms with it.
Where are the pics? How dare you post without even a snippet of info for us....
