My {insert name of toy here}'s Broken!

The Bimmer / beemer / bummer is still slightly broken because I just haven't had time to do anything about getting it fixed. The scrolling wheel on my mouse is also still busted, same reason as above.

And now my phone is on the blink! Yes, the wonderful PalmOne Treo that I bought eight months ago (so it's still under warranty, yeehah!) now lets me listen to anything that anybody says on it, but refuses to let the other person hear what I'm saying.

I know it's probably a bloke thing, but I find it really hard to throw away any bits of redundant techno-garbage, because they might come in useful or become collector's items one day. One of my old phones is an Ericsson R310s which is an allegedly waterproof model. Somebody once asked me if it was a surfboard for a hamster. Anyhoo, this phone saw a lot of action in swimming pools on Fridays, but the rubber coating could not stand up to the rigours of our climate and pretty soon it began to perish and fall off. The glue that was holding it on, though, is completely indestructible, leaving the whole thing a sticky mess.

Of course, I've kept all the old phones, but cannot find a working charger for any of them. Dang.

Ooh.. do you have the Treo 650 or 600? I've been drooling over the 650 for months now and am at the verge of just going out and buying it (a birthday gift to myself) ;) I know it has had reports of speaker problems but the ones I've demo'ed here didn't seem to exhibit any of the reported symptoms I have read in the reviews.

I have a SE K700i which has been good to me. It's gone through more than any other phone I've had. I just need something that would allow me to do more (PDA style)..

As for your bm, sell it already!

Speaking of which, if your phone is still under warranty and is fixable.. I might be interested in buying it off of you :-)

Keefieboy, you are welcome to try and match up any of your phones with some of my redundant chargers.
I also have a box with all kinds of mobile phones, some work, some don't, some have chargers, ear-sets, cases, all kinds of stuff.....geeeeeee...

Mohammed: it's a sexy 650. But I wouldn't recommend you buying one unless you can satisfy yourself that the microphone problem has been fixed - read my next post about after-sales service.

looking at your hamster surfboard again I would say it looks like something between a torpedo and a vibrator (not that I have personal knowledge of course).

i had that ericsson back in the day. i swear to god it could've been made of titanium, i threw it at peoples heads, played catch with it, brought it swimming. the most that ever happened to it was the rubber on the face peeling off (purely aesthetics).
can't actually remember why i stopped using it. what a phone. deserves a cookie IMHO.
