Month Dos

So, here we are, just into our second month in Madrid, and everything seems to be working out just fine. BetterArf started her job today, and we went to view an adorable little flat this afternoon. It´s tiny, but newly-renovated and it has the most creative use of space ever! We´re calling it the Penthouse - it´s on the 7th floor, has a big terrace and spectacular views over Central Madrid. We get the keys tomorrow! And shortly thereafter we´ll get ADSL installed and posting will be back to normal.

My other excuse for not posting much is that I was finishing my novel - every word I had to write went into the book. It´s now finished, 80,000 very cleverly arranged words, so now I´m trying to find a visionary literary agent who can flog it to a publisher.

Later.

May as well put those words to good use!

Looking forward to seeing you back on the blog - as well as MamaDuck to tell of her experiences as Eeengliish teacher!

Melbourne life is so comfortable that there's nothing to write about!

Good luck with the literary agents. I set up a special mailbox for rejections... it got very full!

Nice to hear that you are settled and free from Salisalat.

Looking forward to finding your book on Magrudys shelves.

Let us know when Magrudys stocks the book and I'll rush out to buy a copy.

1) Put the book in a drawer for a month and then take it out and rip it to pieces before you send it anywhere.

2) Target interesting names for agents. I found Sappho Clisset marvellous, if useless. Broo Doherty is a love, though.

3) Don't listen to anyone's advice about writing an approach letter.

4) Do make the synopsis short and sexy.

5) Good luck!!!!

:)

Wait, I must have missed the part where you explained how long you will be in Spain. Did you move there for good? Will you return to Dubai?

Drop grapeshisha a line, he's doing something rather innovative with publishing (should you need to go the self-publishing route).

Can't wait to read this novel ;)
